This privacy policy explains how Rahenan ("we", "our app") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile app (available on iOS and Android).
By downloading and using our app, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy.
1. What information do we collect?
When you use the Rahenan app, we collect the following:
- Name you provide (optional); grade level; subjects you ask about.
- Device ID used to associate your conversations.
- Chat messages and optional images you upload for homework help.
- We do not collect email unless provided, GPS location, phone contacts, financial information, or advertising IDs.
2. How do we use your information?
Your information is used only to provide AI tutoring, preserve local chat history, tailor responses to grade level, improve the app, and resolve technical issues.
3. Sharing of information
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Messages may be shared with AI services to generate responses and cloud services to process requests. These services are bound by their own privacy policies.
4. Data storage
Chat history, your name and device ID are stored on your device and can be deleted by clearing app data or uninstalling.
Messages are sent to our server for processing. We do not store chat history on our servers long-term.
5. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures, including HTTPS, industry-standard server security, and limited access to information.
6. Children's privacy
Rahenan is designed for students of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. Parents or guardians can contact us to request removal.
7. Your rights
You may ask what information we hold, request deletion or correction, receive a copy, or withdraw consent by stopping use of the app. Contact slaw@rahenan.app to exercise these rights.
8. Website locale, cookies and analytics
Our mobile app does not use cookies. It uses AsyncStorage for local data storage.
On a first website visit, Vercel provides an approximate country and city inferred from the IP address so we can open the relevant language. We do not request GPS access. The website stores only your chosen locale in a first-party cookie and uses privacy-conscious Vercel Analytics.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Significant changes will be communicated through an app update or in-app notification.
